For the short amount of time Edwar Tiger has spent in the modelling game you'll be surprised how far he has come. He can pull off the tattooed street head look but stick a suit on him and he looks super dapper. Personally, he is one of my favourite to be doing it right now, and if you were to take a look at his work you would see why. After being a fan of his for some time I just had to get to know him a bit better. So I did just that...
Hello mate, please can you give our readers a brief introduction.
Hello, my name is Edgar J.P, but my artistic name is Edwar Tiger. I'm 30 years old :( and I’m based in Madrid but from Andorra (a little country between Spain and France).
So, what does a normal day consist of?
Check out my social media and see (@edwartiger)! I also volunteer for the 'Cruz Roja' (Red Cross) in the mornings.
Ah that’s cool, I didn’t know that…I thought you were a full-time model! What are your top three interests?
1 - Music because it has been an important part of my life.
2 - Feeling good with what surrounds me.
3 - Working as much as possible.
I like the fact that you chose to add feeling good in your surroundings, not enough people focus on that. Would you say that you have someone or something that inspires you?
My mom and then being alive.
Damn man, you’re hitting us with the real answers! Being alive should be enough inspiration for anyone to have a great day. How did you get into modelling?
If three years ago someone told me that I was going to be a model, I would still be laughing now. It was never in my plans, but that's life! A friend of mine saw some potential in me and he convinced me to try it, since then it’s been a part of my life.
That’s awesome man. It seems like your friend had the right idea! So far, what has been your favourite thing about being a model? And on the flip-side, what has been your least favourite?
Being able to demonstrate that my look works without being a stereotype of the fashion industry has been my favourite thing about being a model. But on the other hand, I hate the superficiality of some people that work in this industry.
Well you have certainly demonstrated that your look works. The pictures of your tattooed self in a suit are some of my favourite to date. I know that you have worked with many brands, from formal to street, headwear to footwear. Which shoot has been the most fun to be a part of?
The most fun has to be a photo shoot I did last year in Barcelona with two of my best friends, photographer Aldo Chorozqui & model Daniel Garcia Prim. It was difficult to get us to work because we couldn't stop laughing.
That’s great man. Work doesn’t seem like work when you’re having fun with your best mates. Have you ever thought about modelling in other countries?
Yes definitely - money is an obstacle but if I can I’m going for it!
Ye I get that. Well if you’re ever coming over to the UK let me know! Are there any photographers or brands that you hope to work with in the future?
I want to work for the best ones.
Haha! Short and sweet, but saying everything that needs to be said. Have you yet had that moment in which you feel like you’ve become a success?
I haven't had it yet.
Well man, I hope that one day you can sit back with fond memories about everything you have accomplished. Now, I have several questions about your tattoos (you must have known they were coming!). What was your first tattoo? Are there any that you regret? Which one was the most painful? And, are there any that you are currently planning to get?
My first was the Atreyu butterflies I have on my back.
Any I regret? Yes, never get a girl’s name tattoo.
The most painful tattoos I’ve had are above my stomach, my knee and my ribs. I’m planning on getting all my back done next.
Cool man. We’re coming to a close now but before we go I want to know, where do you hope to be in 12 months’ time?
I have a lot of things to think about at the moment, so it’s hard to say exactly. I will be more steps above where I am now though.
Awesome man, can’t wait to catch up in the near future and see how you’re getting on.
Before we do finish up, I have a few quick-fire questions for you. It’s been a pleasure man…
Tea or Coffee? Coffee
Read or Watch? Watch
Get up early or go to bed late? Get up early
Smart or Casual? Casual
Leather or Denim? Denim
